How does it work? It is simple. Following the “Mix and Match” principle, the Gira System 55 allows you to combine different cover frames and inserts modularly and interchange them whenever you like.
What does “Mix and Match” mean?
The number 55 refers to standardised dimensions of 55 x 55 mm, used across all components in a total of eight Gira design lines. This allows you to integrate a wide range of inserts with different functions into a single frame. In line with the “Mix and Match” principle, you can combine elements freely to suit your needs.
This applies not only to classic light switches or sockets. Smart control elements such as the Gira pushbutton sensor 3 or a Gira home station can also be customised to match your individual preferences.
How does the Gira System 55 work?
The central inserts form the functional core of the Gira switch system, designed with a uniform square dimension of 55 x 55 millimetres. This allows you to integrate various inserts with different functions into a frame design of your choice.

Gira pushbutton sensor 3 for KNX
With the KNX pushbutton sensor 3, you can assign up to eight individual functions for different devices. For example, you can control and adjust lighting, privacy settings, room temperature, and complex ambience scenarios combining light, blinds, and music at the touch of a button. An integrated temperature sensor ensures a consistently comfortable indoor climate by monitoring the room temperature and automatically adjusting the heating according to your predefined settings.Pushbutton for Gira One and KNX
At first glance, the KNX pushbutton looks like a classic light switch. What you do not see immediately is the smart technology behind it. It allows you to control light colour, brightness, and colour temperature, as well as measure the ambient temperature. Gira Sensotec: Control your lighting automatically and without touch using Gira motion detectors. Thanks to high-frequency technology, the Gira Sensotec detects movement, depending on ambient brightness, and switches the light on or off as needed. As you approach, the insert activates a dimmed light. Within a closer detection range, a simple movement brings the light to full brightness. The Gira Sensotec LED also includes an integrated, glare-free LED light for improved orientation.
