Shining a spotlight on progress: the German Innovation Award honours products and services that stand out with their future-oriented technologies.

Since 1953, the German Design Council has been acting as a leading authority for communication and knowledge transfer in the fields of design, branding, and innovation. This includes hosting the annual German Innovation Award with 40 categories in two competitive classes: “Excellence in Business to Consumer” and “Excellence in Business to Business“.

There are three types of awards:  

• Gold

• Special Mention 

In 2024, the jury selected two Gira products for the class ”Excellence in Business to Business – Building & Elements“. 

In 2026 Gira received the German Innovation Award in the category „Excellence in Business to Business – Building & Elements“. The Gira IP video home station impressed the jury with its seamless combination of comfort, security, and design within Gira’s IP-based door communication system.

Now in its second generation, it combines the control of key functions such as lighting, blinds, heating, entertainment, and door communication within an intuitive touch interface.

This combination of timeless aesthetics and functional versatility impressed as a stylish alternative in the field of electrical installations.
