A bus system is a component of building automation. Intelligent networking requires a special cable that connects actuators and sensors. The intelligence lies in pushbutton sensors or central control units, for example. These devices replace conventional switches and send control commands to lights, blinds, music systems or other devices that can communicate with each other via the bus system.
Actuators in building technology are devices that convert electrical signals into mechanical movements (e.g. lowering a blind). In this way, sensors can be sources of information.
Light scenes are previously programmed scenarios that switch on a corresponding light mood as required – at the touch of a button. For example, you could set a “TV night” setting to switch off all the lights or dim them to a set value without having to adjust each light individually.
Building technology includes all technical devices and systems within a building, such as lighting, blind or heating control. These can be networked via a bus or wireless system and make a fundamental contribution to building control, comfort, security and cost effectiveness.
