The ultimate recognition for trailblazing design: Gira products have won awards granted by the Federal Republic of Germany.
From 1969 to 2014, the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany was among the industry's most coveted prizes. Recipients were selected by the German Design Council on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Since only the winners of other competitions could participate, the award came to be known as the "ultimate prize". In 2011, two Gira products made it to the final round.
