The Gira Keyless In transponder is equipped with long-range transponder technology. The reader responds to the signal from the active transponder key or the transponder card. The battery-operated key can simply stay in the pocket, it transmits its signal automatically depending on the setting starting from 1.5 or 0.75 metres to the door. If this is not desired due to security reasons, operation can be switched to short-range function. The reading distance is then approximately 6 cm, as with the passive transponder card which is additionally available and only works in the immediate area.
Up to 250 keys or cards can be managed per transponder unit. Successful identification of a transponder signal is acknowledged with an acoustic signal that can be switched off if desired. The time period for which far-field relay and near-field relay are activated after the approach of keys or cards can be programmed within the range of 3 to 30 seconds. All keys and cards possess a unique code.

Note
With use of the transponder unit in a metallic environment the far-field range of approximately 1.50 m will be considerably reduced according to use: e.g. in the Gira energy profile, range is approximately 0.9 m, and in the Gira Profile 55 it is approximately 0.6 m.
Teach-in
The programming card is required for starting up and setting the Keyless In Transponder. As many transponder readers as you wish can be managed with it.
LED display
The three-colour LED display signals the respective status during programming and during operation. An acknowledgement buzzer is additionally heard, which can be switched off if desired.
Areas of application
Main applications are the opening of doors indoors and outdoors for 1 to 6-family buildings as well as smaller, commercially used buildings. In addition applications such as garage door control, turnstile control, fence control as well as the control of motorised cylinder locks for front doors can all be realised.
System integration
Gira Keyless In products can be integrated in the Gira door communication system. Both inside and outside, fingerprint, keypad and transponder integrate harmoniously in the switch ranges and are available for Standard 55, E2, Event, Esprit, E22 and TX_44. Using an intermediate plate (55 x 55 mm) the Keyless In products can be integrated in the new F100 range and in the stainless steel series 20 and 21.
Security card
A sealed security card is supplied with purchase of one of the three Keyless In products. In the event that the administrator finger, code or key are no longer available, the units can be reset. This is only possible by Gira for the Transponder and Fingerprint: The card must be sent in together with the units. For the keypad the master PIN can be entered from the security card to reset the unit.
Technical data
Inputs and outputs
- Activation input
The transponder reader features an activation input. The activation input is connected to earth via an NC contact. The transponder unit is deactivated by this. Actuation of the NC contact reactivates the system (e.g. release of the transponder unit via an induction loop). - Near field output
For directed action, e.g. activation of burglar alarm systems, EIB light scene control, door opener controllers etc.
Zero-voltage two-way switch relays with an electrical strength of 24V AC/DC and a current capacity of 1.6 A AC/DC. The contact hold time can be set from 3 to 30 seconds with the programming card. The relay can operate inductive loads such as door openers, for example. - Far field output
E.g. for door opener control or light scene control in combination with the world of EIB.

The two integrated zero-voltage two-way switch relays have a fixed assignment to the following functions:
Relay 1: Far field
If a taught-in standard transponder key is brought into the detection range of the transponder reader (depending on the ambient conditions, approx. 1.5 m distance), the far field relay is activated for the set time.
Relay 2: Near field
If a standard transponder key, e.g. a passive HITAG 2 transponder in cheque-card format, is held at a distance of approx. 6 cm from the transponder reader, the near field relay is activated for the set time. Since it is possible to differentiate between the near field and the far field, it is possible to initiate two different switching processes, e.g. far field = activation of the door opener in combination with the Gira door communication system, and near field = switch on outside light.

- System bus
Communication during operation with the Gira door communication system occurs via the internal system bus. For this a plug connection is included. - Power supply connection: 24 V DC ± 10%
For supplying the transponder reader via the power supply 1296 00. Supplying the transponder reader directly from the Gira 2-wire bus is not possible due to the current consumption. Polarity reversal protection is provided.
