Home-grown luxury

High-quality hospitality combined with a genuine connection to nature: the Moar Gut resort in Grossarl, Austria, combines 5-star accommodation with a commitment to ecology and sustainability. Two five-storey towers made of wood have recently been added to the resort. Known as "Hochgartl", inside they offer spacious suites with every possible comfort – and of course magnificent views of the surrounding Salzburg countryside.

Ecological construction

The ensemble, made up of two separate buildings with a golden connecting structure, was designed by LP architektur from Altenmark in cooperation with landscape architect Karin Walch. A particular highlight of the architecture: the structures are designed in such a way that other parts of the building do not obstruct the exhilarating panoramic views, while guaranteeing maximum privacy in the suites. The Hochgartl complex was built over nine months using local larch wood. The companies involved, from the building contractor and carpenter to the stove manufacturer, were also from the local area.

Worlds of wood

The suites in Hochgartl, which are between 42 and 115 m2, also have a great deal of wood on the inside. The walls and ceilings are finished in high-quality processed spruce wood, while the floors are solid ash heartwood. The understated yet stylish furnishings are complemented by fine linen and loden fabrics, as well as custom-made furniture from the local Huber workshop. All suites have at least one separate children's room, a terrace or balcony – and almost all have a free-standing tiled stove made of green Sommerhuber ceramics, forming the centrepiece of the cosy living area, especially in the colder seasons.

Ultra-modern and comfortable accommodation

Despite the cosy cabin atmosphere, it must not be forgotten that guests are staying in a 5-star resort. This means that the greatest possible comfort and all technical amenities are of course also provided. From the ultra-modern underground car park – including its own car wash – and direct access to every suite by lift, to the modern electronics. This includes the large wireless flat-screen TVs, which are reminiscent of works of art, as well as the switches and socket outlets from the Gira E2 black matt design line, or the individually assignable Gira KNX pushbutton sensor 4 for smart control of the entire suite. Cabin cosiness meets state-of-the-art comfort – against a spectacular natural backdrop.
