An award for pioneering design won by various Gira products.

Since 2011, the German Design Council has been awarding extraordinary products, projects, and designers. The jury – made up of top industry experts – has selected Gira products multiple times to honour their innovative design.

Named a winner in the ‘Excellent Product Design – Building and Elements’ category by the jury: the Gira pushbutton sensor 4 System 55. This multifunctional switch allows you to control your KNX Smart Home intuitively: as a component of the Gira System 55, it offers you even more options for customising the technology used for your equipment along with its appearance. You can combine frames and inserts from a total of seven Gira design lines in any way you like to create a statement piece in your interior design. 

To stop dimly lit hallways or stairs becoming a tripping hazard, the Gira E2 surface-mounted switch can now also be equipped with a practical orientation light. As a surface-mounted version, the switch is easy to retrofit into almost any surroundings, making it a perfect addition to the garage or basement, for example. The timeless colours black and white harmonise with every interior design. These features made an impression on the jury, earning it a special mention in the ‘Excellent Product Design – Building and Elements’ category. 

The jury also gave a special mention in the ‘Excellent Product Design – Building and Elements’ category to the Gira IP flush-mounted radio (available in 2023). Just like the light switches and socket outlets, it is easy to install in the wall, making it straightforward to retrofit in any room. Listen to your favourite stations in the kitchen, bathroom, or living room, for example. The radio is based on state-of-the-art IP technology and not only offers crystal clear audio quality, but can also be used as an alarm clock, or to play music from your smartphone.

Redefining our concept of Smart Home control, the new Gira System 3000 touch top unit has won “Gold” in the category ”Excellent Product Design – Building and Elements”.  

It looks like a switch, but in fact works like a smartphone display: the top unit adds a new way of switching to the Gira System 3000 product range. Instead of pressing a button, you just slightly touch the sensitive surface. One tap to turn the lights on or off – one swipe to adjust the brightness. The same goes for blind control: shades can be lowered or raised with a simple swipe. 

The Gira G1 is an intelligent, universal central operating unit for your KNX smart home. From lighting, heating and entertainment systems to security technology or your door station: Using the bright multi-touch display, you can control all building technology functions easily with touch or gestures. This powerful multi-talent was awarded the German Design Award in the "Building and Energy" category.

With the Gira System 3000 you can network light, blind and heating control smartly with one another. Control is carried out classically via switch as well as via App and Bluetooth. Compatible with the various Gira design lines, the Gira System 3000 can also be visually adapted as desired.

Round instead of square. The Gira Studio stands out visually from the Gira design lines with its striking design. High-quality materials such as shatter-proof plastic and high-quality glass round off the elegant appearance of the switch.

Rounded corners, nine subtle colours and silk-matt or glossy surfaces: The Gira design line E3 is diverse, versatile, and compatible with inserts from the Gira System 55 range – making it a real functional highlight that can be elegantly integrated into any kind of interior. This versatile design line was awarded the German Design Award in the "Building and Elements" category in 2017.
