Call force-through is not necessary with the Standard and Komfort home stations with receiver. This is because there are fundamental differences in speech transmission between the home station with hands-free function and a home station with receiver. The home station with hands-free function uses what is known as an echo suppressor. This means that, in voice mode, there are two voice ICs working together (1x in the home station with hands-free function, 1x in the door station). The voice ICs detect when speech is transmitted from the door station. The microphone pathway of the home station with hands-free function is muffled. In this case, in order to force the call from the home station through to the door station, you need to exceed the preset volume level. Normally, this is not an issue as, during a call, the person at the door has finished speaking before the person in the house answers. However, this becomes problematic if the person speaking at the door station has finished but the background noise (e.g. car noise) is so loud that the noise level does not drop sharply. As the microphone pathway is still considerably muffled in this case, the person at the home station must speak significantly more loudly for their call to go through. The force-through function helps here; it technically cancels the microphone pathway muffling and allows you to easily force the call from the home station through to the door station. This function is not required in home stations with receiver as the microphone circuit is not muffled in this way. For the version with receiver, it is fundamentally easier to force through a call from the home station to the door station, even if there are loud background noises.
Gira DCS mobile: door communication via app
Control your intercom with your smartphone: thanks to Gira DCS mobile, you can talk to visitors or open the door from anywhere. How it works ➔
Gira door station
With the Gira door station, you will know immediately who's ringing your bell. Water-proof and engravable surface in high-quality design.
Internal calls cannot be made on the “surface-mounted audio” home station.
This can be done with our flush-mounted audio home stations 1280xx
and our surface-mounted video stations 1239xx and flush-mounted video stations.
A Western plug is used to connect the receiver to the receiver cable. If this plug is not correctly connected to the receiver, the bell signal may be very quiet. However, voice communication is not necessary impaired as a result.
To resolve the problem, check that the Western plug is connected properly. The plug must click into the receiver socket twice so that it fits flush.
Electrical devices may only be installed by a qualified electrician. Please see the information at: https://www.gira.de/service/bauherren/installationshinweis.html
The surface-mounted video home station Plus offers ten ringtone melodies in WAVE format pre-installed on the SD card. All ringtone melodies can be changed.
You can hear the ringtone melodies here: https://www.gira.de/data3/rufmelodien_1239xx.zip.
The type of home station dictates whether and how the ringtone or voice function volume can be change. “Standard home station” with receiver: Only the ringtone volume can be changed. The voice volume is preset and cannot be changed. To change the ringtone volume, press the light operating button for approx. three seconds with the receiver off the hook. “Home station with hands-free function” and “Komfort home station” with receiver: Both the ringtone and voice volume can be changed. To make the changes, press the volume button.
The ringtones can be individually adjusted; this requires the use of Wave format. The file name of the melody to be overwritten may not be changed.
