Our course of action during the war in Ukraine

Since 24 February 2022, the world has been shaken by the war in Ukraine. Gira is no exception. Our thoughts are with those who now have to fear for their lives – including the employees of our long-standing partner in Kiev, with whom we remain in close contact. Our compassion and solidarity go out to all the families affected by the war.

With this in mind, we have decided to halt all commercial activities on the Russian market. The last delivery to Russia left our factory on 25 February 2022.

We do not hold our clients and Russian civilians responsible for the actions of their government. Rather, we are worried about the consequences that our decision will have for many people in Russia. But following the values that our company holds in such high regard, we deem this decision necessary and right.

The Ukraine has been suffering enormous devastation. We are therefore going to support a reconstruction project with Gira products worth well above six figures. This is about creating humane living space for people who lost their homes due to the war. But we also intend to help those who fled from their home country to Bergisches Land, Germany – by funding rental housing in collaboration with the city of Radevormwald.
