Apprenticeship

As an apprentice, you will start in the digital platforms area and work in all IT departments at Gira over the course of your training. You will learn all the skills to help you program our product software, both in theory and in practice.

As a trained IT specialist with a focus on application development, you will design and program specific types of software at Gira. This will include programs for cloud services products and services, user interfaces for smart products, and website frontends, for example.

This also includes advising other specialist departments and quality assurance as well as ensuring data security.

During your training, you will get to know the entire logistics area at Gira. In addition to receiving and coordinating goods and merchandise, your tasks will also include getting to know our processes. These include the subareas of storage, production and packaging.

As a trained warehouse logistics specialist, you will focus on ensuring smooth workflows between incoming goods, production and shipping in your day-to-day work, which also includes inspecting goods, for example.

To be able to master our sometimes highly complex technology, your areas of work will include mechanics, electronics and IT.

You will install and program hardware and software, and also configure networks and bus systems. To safeguard and optimise production processes, you will also gain extensive insights into the work of development, quality management and technical testing.

After completing your training as a mechatronics technician, you will carry out tests, adjustments and maintenance work on production machines and systems in your day-to-day work. You will also be responsible for ensuring that production processes run smoothly.

Your training content relates to mould making and all related areas. Specifically, you will learn how to implement design specifications from our design department using various machining processes. This includes programming and operating machines. Training on the most important properties of our various plastics is also part of this.

In your day-to-day work as a toolmaker, you will manufacture injection moulds that are used for our plastic parts. You will also be responsible for maintaining the corresponding work equipment.

As an apprentice, you will work in many different departments at Gira, enabling you to gradually become familiar with the structures and work processes within the company. A precise assignment plan, which can, in part, be altered to suit your preferences, will help you get your bearings.

After completing your apprenticeship, you will focus on commercial and business management activities at Gira. These will include selling products and services, advising and supporting our customers, working with marketing, and purchasing materials and means of production. The fields of work that business management encompasses include finance and controlling, among others, as well as human resources.

Your training will focus on the areas of mechanics, electronics and information technology.

Specifically, you will install and program hardware and software and configure networks and bus systems. This also includes testing and analysing new Gira products and products that are the subject of complaints. Over the course of doing so, you will work in our Service Centre as well as in Technical Testing, thereby allowing you to gain a comprehensive insight into the topics of application technology, development and quality management.

After completing your apprenticeship, you will be responsible for testing, parameterising and analysing our products and systems. You will also take care of the smooth processing of complaints and product qualifications.
