Practical and helpful particularly in transit areas such as hallways and staircases: the Gira automatic control switch. It ensures that the lighting switches on automatically when a person enters the room and switches off again when that person leaves the room. The device can be quickly installed: The Gira automatic control switch is simply inserted into the flush-mounted device box in place of the previous switch.
The Standard automatic control switch top unit can be used with a variety of System 2000 flush-mounted inserts, e.g. with a relay insert to switch on/off light bulbs, fluorescent lamps and halogen lamps, or with a Triac switching insert for switching on/off HV and LV halogen lamps for wound transformers. If the top unit is installed in an HVAC relay insert, it also switches the heating and ventilation on/off in addition to the lights. The automatic control switch top unit can also be linked to other automatic control switch top units using an auxiliary insert.
The brightness switching threshold can be adjusted from approx. 0 to 80 lux and brightness-independent switching for day mode can be set by means of a potentiometer on the device. The power-on time of approx. 2 minutes is fixed. The sensitivity can also be set and changed individually, meaning that the top unit can be optimally adjusted to take account of influences by lighting systems of neighbouring areas and other interference, and is suitable without restrictions for automatic lighting control in large auxiliary unit systems.
In addition to the System 2000 inserts for switching on/off various lamp types and the HVAC relay insert for lighting and heating or ventilation applications, the Komfort automatic control switch top unit can also be used with System 2000 dimming inserts. A dimming function in the Komfort automatic control switch top unit ensures that the light is dimmed for a period of 30 seconds before being switched off, an advance warning that is particularly important in a staircase. In addition, a dimming value can be stored via an auxiliary unit and used by the automatic control switch to switch on the lighting.
The Komfort automatic control switch top unit has digital signal analysis for improved detection behaviour and optimised interference signal suppression. And a teach-in function also allows the current light intensity to be easily saved as the limit. The brightness switching threshold (0 - 80 lux), sensitivity (100% - 20%), overrun time (10 s - 30 min.) and brightness-independent switching for day mode can be set using potentiometers on the device.
The System 2000 automatic control switch top units can also be operated with the System 2000 impulse insert for motion-dependent light control, e.g. in stairwells. When activated, the impulse insert sends a pulse to the timer in the distributor, which then switches on the light for a specified time. The response threshold for each device in the lighting system can be individually set to suit the ambient conditions using the potentiometers for initial switch-on brightness in the automatic control switch top unit. The power-on time is set centrally at the automated timer in the distributor cabinet.
Both System 2000 automatic control switch top units can be used with the HVAC relay insert from System 2000 to control the heating and ventilation in addition to the light. The HVAC relay insert has two relay contacts for this purpose. When the automatic control switch detects motion, the light is switched on via the first non-isolated contact. If it detects further movement, the heating or ventilation is activated via the second potential-free contact after three minutes.
