KNX module for Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device

Connection to the KNX system

The Gira KNX module, which is available as an option, allows users to connect the Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device to a KNX system. As a result, fault messages from a smoke alarm device can be registered and the source room pinpointed, which enables targeted initial countermeasures to be activated. Blinds and roller shutters can be automatically raised and windows opened, for example. The front door can also be unlocked, the light along escape routes switched on, and much more.

The KNX module is supplied with electricity via the KNX line. The device has backwards compatibility and can therefore be used for Gira Dual/VdS smoke alarm devices too.

Automatic initiation of countermeasures in the event of alarm

In the event of a fire, it is important that residents and users are warned in good time. If countermeasures are automatically taken at the same time, this helps to further ensure that people are safe. This can be done by connecting the Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device to a KNX system. In the event of a fault message, any functions from the KNX system can be triggered, exactly as required for the room: it can raise blinds and roller shutters automatically, open windows, unlock the front door and switch on the lights along escape routes, to name but a few things.

Installation

The Gira KNX module is simply plugged in at the interface of the Dual Q smoke alarm device. The networking terminals of the smoke alarm device can continue to be used when the module is attached.
