Products for the KNX system

The Gira KNX system enables the seamless integration of diverse devices which offer an extremely broad range of functions. They ensure that even the most demanding requests of occupants can be fully implemented. Lighting, blinds and heating can therefore be controlled, and multimedia and security components can be networked to form a smart system. It is also possible to incorporate the Gira door communication system using various Gira Interface products – for even more convenient living and working.

Actuators

These convert commands received from sensors, automatic control switches or timers into actions and form the interface between the KNX system and the electrical devices.

KNX dimming actuators

The Gira KNX dimming actuators enable dimming of light bulbs and both high-voltage and low-voltage LED and halogen lamps using appropriate ballasts and transformers. The characteristics of the connected load can be automatically measured for each output channel separately and the suitable dimming behaviour set. Alternatively, fixed dimming behaviours can be specified with the ETS parametrisation.

KNX DALI gateway Plus

The Gira KNX DALI gateway Plus is the interface between the KNX installation in the building and a digital DALI lighting system. It enables switching of up to 64 lights in max. 32 groups and the implementation of complex scenes and dynamic light effects via the KNX system. It also allows for a great deal of flexibility during the subsequent lighting configuration process.

KNX control unit 1–10 V

The KNX control unit 1–10 V is used for the switching and dimming of electronic fluorescent-lamps with electronic ballasts with 1–10 V control input or other 1–10 V dimmable devices. The equipment includes relay manual actuation and the option of setting the basic brightness. The connection is multi-phase.

KNX brightness controller

The Gira KNX brightness controller turns energy-saving room and workplace lighting into a reality. It is installed on the ceiling directly above the area to be illuminated – above a workstation, for example – and analyses the lighting conditions of the surface below. The brightness sensors register a range from 0 to 2,000 lux.

KNX brightness controller Mini

The Gira KNX brightness controller Mini controls the lighting on the basis of the available daylight, so that the brightness of the room is constantly maintained at the desired level and fluctuations in natural daylight are smoothly balanced out with artificial light. When there is sufficient daylight, the lighting is turned down and finally switched off for good.

KNX heating actuator, 1-gang

The Gira KNX heating actuator, 1-gang is equipped with three binary inputs. The outputs are connected via a flexible, approx. 20 cm long cable. The binary inputs and the KNX are connected via a 6-wire connection line approx. 30 cm in length. which can be extended to a maximum of five metres. Installation is in a flush-mounted wall box (electronics box from Kaiser recommended).

KNX heating actuator Basic, 6-gang

The Gira KNX heating actuator Basic, 6-gang, controls heating or cooling cycles. It operates electrothermic servos on radiators or underfloor heating manifolds to control the hot-water flow. For each channel, up to four 230 V AC servos or up to two 24 V AC servos can be controlled via a switching regulating variable. The hardware and software of the Gira KNX heating actuator Basic concentrates on the essential functions, making it particularly economical. The DRA device is installed on a DIN top-hat rail.

KNX heating actuator, 6-gang

The Gira KNX heating actuator, 6-gang, controls heating and cooling cycles. It operates electrothermic servos on radiators or underfloor heating manifolds to control the hot-water flow. For each channel, up to four 230 V AC servos or up to two 24 V AC servos can be controlled. Depending on the type of device and the programming, this is achieved by a switching correcting variable or by pulse width modulation (PWM).

Universal power boosters

Gira universal power boosts serve as power extensions of a universal, LV, and/or Tronic dimmer. All device variants have a bulb-saving soft start, integrated electronic short-circuit protection, and automatic excess-temperature protection, some with restart.

KNX switching actuators, 1-gang 16 A, 2-gang 6 A

The Gira KNX switching actuators, 1-gang 16 A and 2-gang 6 A are equipped with two binary inputs for installation in a flush-mounted wall box. Zero-voltage contacts can be connected to them. During this process, both inputs can be blocked independently of one another or perform different functions.

KNX switching actuators with manual actuation

The Gira KNX switching actuators with manual actuation and integrated bus coupler are available in the variants 2-gang, 4-gang, and 8-gang 16 A. Depending on the device type, they are used to switch 2, 4, or 8 load groups which can be controlled independently of each other. With the integrated manual switch, changing over the relay (On/Off) is possible parallel or without KNX operation.

KNX switching actuators with manual actuation and current measurement for C-loads

The Gira KNX switching actuators with manual operation and current measurement for C-loads are available in the variants 4-gang and 8-gang 16 A. With the integrated manual switch, changing over the relay (On/Off) is possible parallel or without KNX operation. The switching contacts of the device variants are especially designed for loads with a capacitive character, and brief, high switch-on currents caused thereof.

KNX switching blind actuators

The Gira KNX switching blind actuators with manual actuation and integrated bus coupler can be used as a switching actuator (max. 4-gang, 8-gang, or 16-gang) or as a blind actuator (max. 2-gang, 4-gang, or 8-gang) depending on the parameterisation. Mixed configurations of switching and blind actuators are also possible.

KNX room actuator

The Gira KNX room actuator controls electrical devices from a maximum of three different functions – such as lighting, blinds and heating – within a single device. Corresponding constellations are used in the living room, office or hotel room. The room actuator’s four relay outputs can be set in pairs for blind operation or, alternatively, for switching operation in the ETS. Mixed operation is also possible.

KNX window actuator

The Gira KNX window actuator combines a blind actuator with a heating actuator. It has three binary inputs which, in the default delivery state, enable control of the connected blind, roller shutter, awning or ventilation flap.

KNX blind actuator, 1-gang

The Gira KNX blind actuator, 1-gang has three binary inputs for the controlling of the connected blind, shutter, awning or ventilation flap in the state of delivery. The blind actuator is installed in a flush-mounted wall box.

KNX shutter actuator

The Gira KNX shutter actuator, 4-gang 230 V is used to control electronically operated shutters for the mains voltage of 230 V AC (4-channel). It has a button for manual actuation and an LED status display for each output. A bus coupling is integrated, and it is possible to connect various external conductors. Installation takes place on a DIN top-hat rail.

KNX blind actuators

Gira KNX blind actuators with manual operation and integrated bus coupler are used to control electrically operated blinds, shutters, awnings, ventilation flaps, or similar hangings. In doing so, they are suitable for low voltages of 12 to 48 V DC or for a mains voltage of 230 V AC. A status display is integrated for each output. The DRA Plus actuators are installed on a DIN top-hat rail.

Combination sensor with DCF77 receiver

The combination sensor from the Gira KNX system is used in conjunction with the KNX weather station, and controls and monitors building and building technology depending on the climate values detected.

0/10 V rain sensor

The Gira rain sensor 0/10 records precipitation and evaluates it. The conductivity of the rain water is analysed using a sensor, and an output signal of 0 or 10 V is then provided. The end of precipitation can be logged almost immediately with the help of installed heating.

KNX analogue sensor interface, 4-gang

The 4-gang analogue sensor interface is used for recording and forwarding four analogue sensor signals. Each channel can be separately parametrised to the respective input signal.

KNX fan coil actuator

The fan coil actuator controls fan coil units used for the air conditioning of rooms. A distinction is made here between the two-pipe and the four-pipe model. Both systems are supported by the Gira fan coil actuator.
