Gira Control 9 Client

Controlling intelligent building technology at the touch of a finger

With its screen diagonal of 22.9 cm [9"], the Gira Control 9 Client is especially compact while still offering the full functionality and easy usability of the Gira Control Clients. In conjunction with the Gira HomeServer or FacilityServer, the entire KNX building technology can be operated at the touch of a finger using its vivid touch screen. In this way, lights, blinds, heating, ventilation, household appliances, and multiroom audio systems can be controlled and complex living scenes can be compiled from several functions. Occupants can keep an eye on the status of a range of individual functions all at the same time, and call up graphs, analyses, and much more. What's more, the Gira Control 9 Client can be integrated into the Gira door communication system so that it can be used as a home station for audio-visual door communication.

Thanks to the award-winning Gira Interface, the user interface of the Gira HomeServer, the Gira Control 9 Client provides exceptionally high usability. Menu navigation is intuitive, and all functions can be reached within two levels. Additional information or operating elements are displayed directly in a pop up window. This makes the tedious clicking through of countless menu items a thing of the past. The Gira Control 9 Client has an impressively high-quality appearance due to the use of real materials such as aluminium and glass. The clear lines of the PC-based control device blend harmoniously with any home furnishings. It is available in four versions: with glass frames in white, mint, umber, or black.

Convenient operation of the entire building technology

The Gira Control 9 Client enables the visualisation and operation of all functions in the building system technology. Its brilliant display with a screen diagonal of 22.9 cm [9"] is easy to read from all directions, so that both adults and children can see the display equally well and operate the functions accordingly. The capacitive touch screen ensures simple operation with a pleasant feel. The multi-award-winning Gira Interface has a uniform design and intuitive structure that makes all the functions easily accessible. It displays the entire building technology clearly and concisely. A wide range of areas such as lighting, blinds, ventilation, heating and household appliances can be operated centrally. In addition, users can save and call up light scenes, listen to music, use internet applications, display emails, show household energy consumption in the form of clear graphs, and read fault messages.

Connection to the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer

In conjunction with the Gira servers, the Gira Control 9 Client enables the system's numerous functions to be operated. The Gira HomeServer is the on-board computer for the home. As the interface between the modern electrical installation and the computer network, it controls all the building technology components that are networked via the KNX system and enables the integration of numerous other technologies. It thus enables the KNX functions to be operated using state-of-the-art communication media. The Gira FacilityServer offers the complete functional range of the Gira HomeServer and is equipped with considerably more memory for its use in the commercial sector. It can save significantly larger data volumes and create more complex, elaborate visualisations. In addition, several Gira FacilityServer units can be networked, so that buildings that are spatially separated from each other can be interconnected without problems. This allows local and higher-level applications to be coordinated with ease with the Gira Control 9 Client.

Remote control via the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer

Together with the Gira servers, the Gira Control 9 Client can also be controlled remotely. It can be set to the energy-saving Standby mode when the home's occupants are absent and 'reawakened' upon their return. Even the screen saver can be controlled, and external programs such as web browsers can also be started and exited.

Integration into Gira door communication

Through the integration of a speaker and microphone, the Gira Control 9 Client can also be used as a home station for audio-visual door communication. A colour camera is also integrated. The Gira DCS IP gateway is required for using the door communication, as this converts the signals from the Gira door communication system to the network protocol level (IP). The door communication can thus be integrated into the Gira Control 9 Client's user interface as an additional building technology function. The Gira Keyless In components Fingerprint, Transponder and Keypad can be integrated and all kinds of intelligent links can be created – for example opening the front door can be coupled with switching on the lights or heating. Functions such as creating user groups, distributing rights, or personalising ringtones open up a wide range of possibilities for customisation. In combination with the Gira DCS IP gateway and the DCS Communicator software, the Gira Control 9 Client can also be used as an outright home station without the Gira HomeServer.

Installation

The Gira Control 9 Client is mounted into the wall in a flush-mounted device box. The Gira Control 9 Client can be installed into existing Gira InfoTerminal Touch flush-mounted device boxes using an adapter frame so that older systems can be upgraded to the current state of the art. The device's energy consumption is low. Power supply is via an integrated long-range 110 to 230 V power supply unit. This means that there is no need for an additional power supply unit in the flush-mounted device box or distributor.

Accessories

- Desk housing to be placed on a desk or mounted on the wall
